How to mend a Dane’s broken chain – not that it’s a frequent occurrence (not!).
Invert the bike as shown opposite. This picture was taken after the Dane had charged like his ancestors over the hill carrying his bike like an axe following yet another chain break. He had not joined the peleton at the start of the ride. The first that Gentlemen knew of his presence was when they heard primaeval yells rolling over our green and pleasant land.
Use the chain link extractor tool to remove the broken link
Position a new link in place or dismantle and re-install the next link to the broken one.
Then tighten using the link tool
The Dane shows that he has learnt from this valuable demonstration.
